TV SHOWS WATCHED THIS MONTH

It's okay to not be okay - poster de kdrama | All korean drama, Korean drama series, Korean drama best Drama Review] The K2: “Children of Wolves become Wolves themselves.” – Precious Jasmin

It’s Okay To Not Be Okay is a wonderful drama filled with heart touching emotions, family, drama, and romance. If you’re looking for a good romantic TV show that focus on mental disorders then you guys  need to check this out. I loved the entire fairytale aspect of this series. It’s totally worth a watch!

THE K2 is a good action packed romance drama. The plot was engaging and I’m glad romance isn’t the major focus. It heavily centered around politics and political intrigue. If you aren’t into them, then better avoid it.

A sword with the strength to topple kingdoms. When Ziva learns of the warlord’s intentions to use the weapon to enslave all the world under her rule, she takes her sister and flees.

Fly with the Arrow(Bluebeard’s Secret #1)

BY SARAH K.L. WILSON

I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a good Bluebeard retelling!!!

Fly with the Arrow (Bluebeard's Secret #1)BLURB: A STOLEN BRIDE. A TERRIFYING BRIDEGROOM. THE GAME THAT WILL DETERMINE THEIR FATES.

No one told her the most important law of the court – the Law of Greeting.
If they had, maybe she wouldn’t have greeted Bluebeard when he arrived to claim a mortal wife. And if she hadn’t greeted him, she wouldn’t have become his sixteenth wife or been swept away to the lands of the Wittenhame.

But if none of that had happened, then she wouldn’t have been an integral part of the game that takes place every two hundred years – a game that determines the fates of nations .

For not all is as it seems, not in her homeland of Pensmoore, not in the Wittenhame, and certainly not in her new marriage.

THE PROJECT BY COURTNEY SUMMERS

“THE UNITY PROJECT SAVED MY LIFE.”

Lo Denham is used to being on her own. After her parents died, Lo’s sister, Bea, joined The Unity Project, leaving Lo in the care of their great aunt. Thanks to its extensive charitable work and community outreach, The Unity Project has won the hearts and minds of most in the Upstate New York region, but Lo knows there’s more to the group than meets the eye. She’s spent the last six years of her life trying – and failing – to prove it.

“THE UNITY PROJECT MURDERED MY SON.”

When a man shows up at the magazine Lo works for claiming The Unity Project killed his son, Lo sees the perfect opportunity to expose the group and reunite with Bea once and for all. When her investigation puts her in the direct path of its charismatic and mysterious leader, Lev Warren, he proposes a deal: if she can prove the worst of her suspicions about The Unity Project, she may expose them. If she can’t, she must finally leave them alone.

But as Lo delves deeper into The Project, the lives of its members, and spends more time with Lev, it upends everything she thought she knew about her sister, herself, cults, and the world around her – to the point she can no longer tell what’s real or true. Lo never thought she could afford to believe in Lev Warren . . . but now she doesn’t know if she can afford not to.

WELCOME TO THE UNITY PROJECT.

Book Of The Month

Of Goblins and Gold (Of Goblins Kings #1)
by Emma Hamm
[JAN 2021]

This was my first Emma Hamm book and I absolutely loved it. The story was captivating, and the setting was gorgeous. I can’t wait for the next book!

Of Goblins and Gold (Of Goblin Kings, #1)

BLURB: To save her sister, she must beat a goblin at his own game…
Freya knows the sound of goblin bells. She knows to move to the side of the road and let them pass. Never buy any of their wares. And above all else, never make a deal with the monstrous beasts.

But when her sister takes a necklace and is kidnapped, Freya knows there is no other choice. She must journey to the realm of the fae where the Goblin King himself has stolen her sister. Once there, she must perform four tasks to save the only family she has left.

The Goblin King won’t make this easy, however. He always seems one step ahead of her. To defeat him, she’ll have to put everything on the line.

Even her heart.

Winter Plague (Complete Collection)
by Quinn Blackbird

I highly recommend this series if you’re into dystopian books with survival themes and slow burn romance.

Winter Plague (Complete Collection)
BLURB: If you tried to run, you know what would happen, Winter.
I would hunt you down and burn the world to find you…

The world has gone to shit.
All that’s left are a few bands of rogue survivors, more dangers than ever, those violence-loving rotters, and me and my dog, Cleo. Well, it should just be Cleo and me. And it was, until–
I found them.
A group of mercenaries in this plagued, wintery world. Once high-ranking soldiers, something has turned them dark in this new life we all lead. And my darkness calls to theirs…

Leo saves my life, Castle keeps me safe, and I’m torn between the two. Only, it’s more than returned feelings that have them watching over me, and I quickly learn that my place in this group is not optional. I can’t leave any time I want.

I’ve been taken captive.
And I see no way out. Not without breaking my own heart in the progress.

Book Of The Month

SKYHUNTER(SKYHUNTER#1) BY MARIE LU

I wouldn’t say this was an extra-ordinary read but I really enjoyed the characters, the concept, and the world. It has a gripping storyline which kept me hooked till the end.  I would highly recommend it if you’re into YA dystopia.

BLURB: In a world broken by war, a team of young warriors is willing to sacrifice everything to save what they love.

The Karensa Federation has conquered a dozen countries, leaving Mara as one of the last free nations in the world. Refugees flee to its borders to escape a fate worse than death—transformation into mutant war beasts known as Ghosts, creatures the Federation then sends to attack Mara.

The legendary Strikers, Mara’s elite fighting force, are trained to stop them. But as the number of Ghosts grows and Karensa closes in, defeat seems inevitable.

Still, one Striker refuses to give up hope.

Robbed of her voice and home, Talin Kanami knows firsthand the brutality of the Federation. Their cruelty forced her and her mother to seek asylum in a country that considers their people repugnant. She finds comfort only with a handful of fellow Strikers who have pledged their lives to one another and who are determined to push Karensa back at all costs.

When a mysterious prisoner is brought from the front, Talin senses there’s more to him than meets the eye. Is he a spy from the Federation? Or could he be the weapon that will save them all?

Book Of The Month

THE INHERITANCE GAMES BY JENNIFER LYNN BARNES

A Cinderella story with deadly stakes and thrilling twists!
This was an unputdownable read! Even though I predicted some of the twists, it didn’t fail to hold my interest. I enjoyed every minute of it! I highly recommend it if you’re into entertaining YA mystery/thrillers.

BLURB:

Avery Grambs has a plan for a better future: survive high school, win a scholarship, and get out. But her fortunes change in an instant when billionaire Tobias Hawthorne dies and leaves Avery virtually his entire fortune. The catch? Avery has no idea why–or even who Tobias Hawthorne is. To receive her inheritance, Avery must move into sprawling, secret passage-filled Hawthorne House, where every room bears the old man’s touch–and his love of puzzles, riddles, and codes.

Unfortunately for Avery, Hawthorne House is also occupied by the family that Tobias Hawthorne just dispossessed. This includes the four Hawthorne grandsons: dangerous, magnetic, brilliant boys who grew up with every expectation that one day, they would inherit billions. Heir apparent Grayson Hawthorne is convinced that Avery must be a con-woman, and he’s determined to take her down. His brother, Jameson, views her as their grandfather’s last hurrah: a twisted riddle, a puzzle to be solved. Caught in a world of wealth and privilege, with danger around every turn, Avery will have to play the game herself just to survive.

Monthly Wrap Up | July [2020]

Hello Everyone! Welcome back to my wrap up post! I hope you’re all are doing well and being safe. Well, July turned out be another slumpy month for me. Reading wise it wasn’t a bad month even though I failed to finish my TBR list, but in the case of blogging I did pretty average. I posted four reviews, haven’t commented back to my posts, and didn’t do much blog hopping. I’m planning to catch up with every one’s posts this month. I hope August will be a better month for me! *fingers crossed*

MEXICAN GOTHIC BY SILVIA MORENO-GARCIA

If you like Historical Gothic Horror then pick this up ASAP!

SYNOPSIS: After receiving a frantic letter from her newlywed cousin begging for someone to save her from a mysterious doom, Noemí Taboada heads to High Place, a distant house in the Mexican countryside. She’s not sure what she will find – her cousin’s husband, a handsome Englishman, is a stranger, and Noemí knows little about the region.

Noemí is also an unlikely rescuer: She’s a glamorous debutante, and her chic gowns and perfect red lipstick are more suited for cocktail parties than amateur sleuthing. But she’s also tough and smart, with an indomitable will, and she is not afraid: not of her cousin’s new husband, who is both menacing and alluring; not of his father, the ancient patriarch who seems to be fascinated by Noemí; and not even of the house itself, which begins to invade Noemi’s dreams with visions of blood and doom.

Her only ally in this inhospitable abode is the family’s youngest son. Shy and gentle, he seems to want to help Noemí but might also be hiding dark knowledge of his family’s past. For there are many secrets behind the walls of High Place. The family’s once colossal wealth and faded mining empire kept them from prying eyes, but as Noemí digs deeper she unearths stories of violence and madness.

And Noemí, mesmerized by the terrifying yet seductive world of High Place, may soon find it impossible to ever leave this enigmatic house behind.
