“ Gold is wealth. Wealth is power. Power is a curse.’’ . A touch of Gold was a unique retelling of King Midas and his golden touch. I’ve never read a King Midas retelling and I quite enjoyed reading this book. The author did a great job on writing her own version of tale. It has everything I ever wanted in a YA fantasy such as sea adventures, pirates, magical curses, gold, and sirens. The whole journey was a magical ride. Even though the plot was somewhat predictable for me, I really had fun reading this book and I never felt bored. “ When the Bat's away, the Cat will play. It's time to see how many lives this cat really has. . ” . I’ve been very excited to read the third installment of DC Icons series since I’ve heard it was written by one of my favorite author Sarah J. Maas. I really don’t know much about DC comics world so I don’t know how much is accurate in this book but I really enjoyed Maas’ version of Catwoman in an advanced cat suit. This is my favorite book in this series so far. I’ve seen some reviewers hating this book especially the DC fans because the characters were not exactly like in the original DC world so you’re either going to hate it or love it but it’s definitely worth giving it a shot. Personally, I had fun reading this book. I quite enjoyed the plot and the action, the friendship between Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Harley, and also the banters between Luke Fox and Catwoman. “YOUR MIND IS NOT YOUR OWN. YOUR BODY IS NOT YOUR OWN. YOUR LIFE IS NOT YOUR OWN.” . I'm a great fan of Jay Kristoff's Nevernight series, and Iluminae Files. I recently finished LIFEL1K3 and I absolutely loved it. It's a fast paced post-apocalyptic sci-fi story with robots and androids. The whole journey was an exciting ride filled with non-stop action, humor, thrill, and romance. All the characters were pretty amazing and fun especially Lemon Fresh. She was quite quirky and hilarious! Seriously, this book was totally a blast and the ending left me wanting for more. I enjoyed every aspect in it. Mister Kristoff has really done a fabulous job in writing this book and I can’t wait to read the next one. I highly recommend this to all the YA sci-fi fantasy readers. . My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 . “The real story isn’t half as pretty as the one you’ve heard.” - Naomi Novik(Spinning Silver) . Naomi weaved a wonderful tale filled with magic and adventure. This book is a great treat for all the fairy-tale lovers. It's a loose re-imagining of Rumpelstiltskin which incorporates other parts of fairy tales as well. Spinning Silver is an enchanting tale about three strong women fighting to make their own fate. I liked all the three main characters but Miryem was definitely my favorite. The author's narrating skills were pretty impressive. It's a slow paced read, but it has an interesting story-line which will never leave you bored. The story sucked me in from the first chapter and the wintry setting was just beautiful. I really wish I had read this in winter because it makes a perfect winter read. Overall, I loved this book. . “The darkness was his ally, not his enemy.” . Batman Nightwalker is the second book in the DC ICONS series written by one of my favorite author Marie Lu. I'm actually not big fan of Batman but I still want to give it a shot because it was Marie's book. I enjoyed reading the younger version of Bruce Wayne who’s a naive, curious, and reckless teenager. He's totally different from the broody dark Knight we know. The writing was one of the best aspects of this book and Marie did a great job with the world building. She perfectly depicted Dark Gotham City. Overall, I really had fun reading this even though some parts were predictable. The third book Catwoman Soulstealer written by the wonderful Sarah J. Maas has been recently came out and I can't wait to read it. My Rating: 4/5 Stars!
