THE MID-YEAR BOOK FREAK OUT TAG! [2019]

Hello Everyone!  It’s that time of year again and I’m so excited to write this post. Thank you so much Mel and Mir from TBRandBeyond for tagging me. I love doing this tag every year and sharing my thoughts on the books I’ve read so far. So without any further ado, let’s begin.

So far, I’ve read 60 books and I’m nearly halfway through with my 2019 Goodreads challenge.

1.THE BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ THIS YEAR SO FAR:

Shadow of the Fox (Shadow of the Fox, #1)

Shadow Of The Fox was actually released last year, but I finally got around to it this year and I freaking loved it. It was fast paced, action packed, and a total adventurous ride. The Characters made this book even more amazing. I highly recommend this series.
And below are some other best books that I’ve loved.

Wicked Saints (Something Dark and Holy, #1) King of Scars (Nikolai Duology, #1) Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle, #1) Call It What You Want Soul in Darkness

2. BEST SEQUEL YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2019:

The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air, #2)
I wouldn’t say it was my favorite read but I think it’s a good sequel to The Cruel Prince and really loved the cliffy at the end.

Soul of the Sword (Shadow of the Fox #2)

Soul Of the Sword was a great sequel to Shadow Of The Fox. As expected this book didn’t disappoint me. I loved every minute of it and I can’t wait to read the epic finale.

3.A NEW RELEASE THAT YOU HAVEN’T READ BUT REALLY WANT TO:

Susan Ee, author of Penryn and The End Of The Days trilogy is one of my favorite authors. Her latest book Cinder and The Prince of Midnight was a huge letdown for me. I had high expectations for this book but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

6.BIGGEST SURPRISE OF THE YEAR:

Bloodleaf (Bloodleaf, #1)

Bloodleaf by Crystal Smith: This was an imaginative retelling of the Grimm Fairy tale “The Goose Girl”. I’m not familiar with the original Goose Girl fairytale but I found this story quite engaging. I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did. It was a good YA fantasy read and I’m so looking forward to the next book.

Autumn Book Tag! 2017

autmn (Copy)

Hi guys! I hope everyone enjoying the Autumn Equinox. So today, I bring you the Autumn Book tag. Recently, I was tagged by the Wonderful Melanie @Mel To The Any to do this fun book tag. It was originally created by seelieknight and you’ll find the questions are different from the other autumn tags and I really had fun doing it. So without further ado, let’s begin.

Best autumnal themed book cover?

Tris & Izzie

Tris & Izzie is a german fairytale retelling of Isobel and Tristan. I didn’t love the retelling but I did love the cover. It definitely gives the autumn vibes.

An Enchantment of Ravens is another awesome cover that gives autumn vibes. I recently finished this book and I absolutely loved it. I highly recommend it to everyone who are total suckers for fae novels. This book was damn beautiful!

Which fictional friend group would you trust with a Ouija board?

Image result for inner circle acowar

The inner circle from the ACOTAR series. It would totally make my day spending time with them and I know they’ll have my back if something goes wrong.

Which book setting would you love to be celebrating in during Halloween night?

Daughter of the Burning City

Gomorrah is definitely the best place to celebrate during halloween Night. It’s a travelling circus city inhabited by freaks and the whole atmosphere gives you the dark and creepy vibes. I think it’s an amazing place to have fun especially on a Halloween Night.

Best autumnal food description inside of a story?

Sorry! No book comes to my mind right now but I do remember reading some books that has description of delicious autumnal foods like apple pie,  marshmallows, and hot chocolate.

Which fictional character would you dress as?

I would love to dress as Rogue from X-Men but from the Bookish fictional world I would pick Inej aka wraith from Six Of Crows duology. She’s totally a badass girl who always stays behind the shadows watching everyone’s moves and learning their secrets.

Image result for Inej six of crows

An antagonist you would pledge your allegiance to?

It’s DARKLING from Grisha Trilogy! He’s my top favorite Antagonist and I’m so much obsessed with him.

Image result for darkling

The creepiest book you’ve ever read?

Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper (Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper #1)Of The Trees

I haven’t  read many creepy books but these are the most creepiest books I’ve ever read so far. If you’re looking for a nice creepy ghost hunting book series this month then I highly recommend Ghost Trapper Ellie Jordan series. It will definitely give you chills!

A book you’ve yet to read but will read this October?

Haven The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic Last Star Burning (Last Star Burning #1)

Haven By Mary Lindsey: It’s an ARC which I haven’t read yet but I’m looking forward to pick it up soon.

The Language Of Thorns By Leigh Bardugo: My copy hasn’t arrived yet *sad pouting face* but it’s okay I’m planning to devour this book on Halloween night.

The Last Star Burning: Recently, I’ve been hearing great things about this book so I really can’t wait to check it out for myself.

Which fictional character would you put in charge of the decorations for a Halloween party?

I would pick Harte Darrigan from the Last Magician By Lisa Maxwell. He’s not only a great magician and also an amazing stage setter so I believe he would make a perfect guy to do this job in bringing the creepiness to life with his Halloween decor.

THE COMIC RELIEF – NAME YOUR FAVORITE HILARIOUS CHARACTER OR YOUR FAVORITE COMEDY/FUNNY BOOK

ALL I’VE NEVER WANTED BY ANA HUANG

This book was so much fun to read!  It’s actually based on one of  my favorite drama Boys Over Flower or Hana Yori Dango in Japanese version.

All I've Never WantedBLURB:The Scions were the four richest, most powerful guys at Valesca Academy, and they ruled the school with iron fists. Everyone wanted to date them or be them…everyone, that is, except Maya Lindberg, who just wanted to avoid them until she could graduate.

She almost succeeded, until an ill-advised outburst on her part put her right in the Scions’ path. Just like that, one became her fake boyfriend, one her unwanted matchmaker, one her guardian angel, and the one she couldn’t stand the most? Yeah, he’s her new housemate.

What happens when a girl gets everything she never asked for, including a puppy, a new wardrobe, and, possibly, even true love?

THE SEVEN DWARFS FROM SNOW WHITE

FAVORITE GROUP/ENSEMBLE

It’s definitely Kaz’s crew from Six Of Crows!

If you haven’t heard of this book then you must be living under a rock. This duology is totally awesome especially the characters.

Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1)

BLURB: Criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker has been offered wealth beyond his wildest dreams. But to claim it, he’ll have to pull off a seemingly impossible heist:

Break into the notorious Ice Court
(a military stronghold that has never been breached)

Retrieve a hostage
(who could unleash magical havoc on the world)

Survive long enough to collect his reward
(and spend it)

Kaz needs a crew desperate enough to take on this suicide mission and dangerous enough to get the job done – and he knows exactly who: six of the deadliest outcasts the city has to offer. Together, they just might be unstoppable – if they don’t kill each other first.

THE LOYAL CHEERLEADER CHAMELEON (NOT A FROG, FLYNN RIDER) – NAME A BOOK THAT STARTED OUT ONE WAY BUT CHANGED FOR YOU

THE TRAITOR’S KISS BY ERIN BEATY: This was quite a disappointment read for me! This book started with a great start but slowly it become less exciting and boring when there’s no spy action as I expected there to be and most of the story was focused on the romance.

The Traitor's Kiss (Traitor's Trilogy, #1) BLURB: An obstinate girl who will not be married. A soldier desperate to prove himself. A kingdom on the brink of war.

With a sharp tongue and an unruly temper, Sage Fowler is not what they’d call a lady―which is perfectly fine with her. Deemed unfit for marriage, Sage is apprenticed to a matchmaker and tasked with wrangling other young ladies to be married off for political alliances. She spies on the girls―and on the soldiers escorting them.

As the girls’ military escort senses a political uprising, Sage is recruited by a handsome soldier to infiltrate the enemy ranks. The more she discovers as a spy, the less certain she becomes about whom to trust―and Sage becomes caught in a dangerous balancing act that will determine the fate of her kingdom.

Idol (VIP, #1)BLURB:
Libby
I found Killian drunk and sprawled out on my lawn like some lost prince. With the face of a god and the arrogance to match, the pest won’t leave. Sexy, charming, and just a little bit dirty, he’s slowly wearing me down, making me crave more.
He could be mine if I dare to claim him. Problem is, the world thinks he’s theirs. How do you keep an idol when everyone is intent on taking him away?
Killian
As lead singer for the biggest rock band in the world, I lived a life of dreams. It all fell apart with one fateful decision. Now everything is in shambles.
Until Liberty. She’s grouchy, a recluse—and kind of cute. Scratch that. When I get my hands on her, she is scorching hot and more addictive than all the fans who’ve screamed my name.
The world is clamoring for me to get back on stage, but I’m not willing to leave her. I’ve got to find a way to coax the hermit from her shell and keep her with me. Because, with Libby, everything has changed. Everything.

Worst Pairing: Adelaide and Cedric from The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead. Their romance was dull and totally boring.

Hello everyone! I’m back again with another interesting tag named The Who am I tag. I would like to thank the wonderful Lily from Lair Of Books and also the awesome Trang and Lashaan from Bookidote for tagging me. So, guys don’t forget to check out their amazing blogs. Without further ado, let’s begin.

What is the meaning of my name?

RAVEN: The name originates from the English vocabulary word “raven”, which in turn is ultimately derived from the Old English hræfn. As a masculine name, Raven parallels the Old Norse Hrafn and the Old English *Hræfn, which both mean “raven”. As a feminine name, Raven is among several other names derived from birds; names such as Dove, Kestrel, and Teal.

The Advocate

The Advocate personality type is very rare, making up less than one percent of the population, but they nonetheless leave their mark on the world. As members of the Diplomat Role group, Advocates have an inborn sense of idealism and morality, but what sets them apart is that they are not idle dreamers, but people capable of taking concrete steps to realize their goals and make a lasting positive impact.

Writer

You have a skill for language, your imagination is vast and you are artistic and creative. Your brain is just overflowing with ideas, and all you have to do is get a piece of paper and share it with the world. You were born to turn words into magical stories.

DAUNTLESS!

You belong with the brave. You’re the iconic rebel, and you love adventure. Nothing scares you, and if it does, you conquer it. You’re quick to overcome your fears, eager to try new things, and always first to pick a fight. Staying active is a huge priority. You like to keep your mind and body fit so that you’re ready for anything. You probably experiment with your hair more often than Miley Cyrus, and you probably had your first tattoo before you were legal. You know how to protect what is yours, and you won’t settle for anything less.

What Does My Birth Order Say About Me? (Link)

The Baby

Stereotype: Free spirit, risk taker, charming.
Why it’s true: Parents are less cautious. (Hey, the older ones ate the dog’s food and lived!) And they also probably have more resources than they did when starting out. “Parents are more lenient, so youngest kids tend to be less rules-oriented, and yet they still get lots of attention,” says Salmon.
When it’s not: “Some babies resent not being taken seriously,” says Linda Campbell, a professor of counseling and human development at the University of Georgia, in Athens. “They might become very responsible, like the oldest, or social, like the middle.”

Rapid Fire Book Tag!

Rapid fire tag (Copy).png

Hi everyone! It’s been a looong time since I’ve done a book tag! So I’m back again with a new fun book tag. I’ve been tagged by the wonderful Ava @Reads, Rhythms & Ruminations to do the rapid fire book tag. Thank you so much Ava and guys don’t forget to give her blog a visit! So, without further ado, let’s begin. 🙂

EBOOKS OR PHYSICAL BOOKS?

Ebooks! I love physical books too but I’m mostly comfortable with ebooks because they are more easier to carry around and also makes it easier for me to read at midnight with backlight on and get myself drowned into the story.

Image result for reading at night with kindle

PAPERBACK OR HARDBACK?

Well, for reading purposes I would prefer Paperback but in the case of preserving for a long time I would prefer Hardback.

ONLINE OR IN-STORE BOOK SHOPPING?

Online Book Shopping! Books are more cheaper in online but I also love to browse through book stores.

TRILOGIES OR SERIES?

Trilogies! Because Series are time consuming and the wait for the next book is always a torturous thing to go through. If the series is good then everything is okay but if the story starts to take downhill with each installment then it becomes another torture to go through.

HEROES OR VILLAINS?

Heroes! But to be honest, I would prefer both of them because an interesting villain makes the story even more exciting to read.

A BOOK YOU WANT EVERYONE TO READ?

Caraval By Stephanie Garber, and Gemina by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff. These two are awesome reads and I recommend everyone to give them a try.

Caraval (Caraval, #1) Gemina (The Illuminae Files, #2)

RECOMMEND AN UNDERRATED BOOK.

Oh, I have lots of books to recommend.

In Ice We Burn (The Liftsal Guardians, #1) Crown of Crimson (The Afterlight Chronicles, #1)

THE LAST BOOK YOU FINISHED?

Nemesis By Brendan Reichs.

Nemesis (Project Nemesis, #1)

This book is really good! I haven’t expected to enjoy it as much as I did. It’s a fast paced thrilling YA sci-fi mystery that held my attention through out. I need book 2 right now!!!

WEIRDEST THING YOU USED AS A BOOKMARK?

Does thin haircomb comes into the weird category???

USED BOOKS, YES OR NO?

Are you kidding me!

TOP THREE FAVORITE GENRES?

Fantasy, Dystopia and Paranormal romance.

BORROW OR BUY?

Buy! I don’t like borrowing because I like to read from my own books.

CHARACTERS OR PLOT?

Sorry, I can’t pick one because I think both are essential aspects of a good story.

LONG OR SHORT BOOK?

It depends on the genre. For fantasy I would prefer Long books but for contemporaries I would always prefer short books.

LONG OR SHORT CHAPTERS?

Long Chapters!

NAME THE FIRST THREE BOOKS YOU THINK OF.

The final Empire by Brandon Sanderson, Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Mass, Gemina by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff.

BOOKS THAT MAKE YOU LAUGH OR CRY?

Definitely the books that make me laugh because I mostly enjoy reading books with humor more than the emotional one’s that makes me cry.

OUR WORLD OR FICTIONAL WORLDS?

Fictional Worlds, duh!

DO YOU EVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER?

I don’t always judge a book by its cover but sometimes I really do when the cover is too ugly to look at.

BOOK TO MOVIE OR BOOK TO TV ADAPTATION?

It’s definitely Book to TV Adaptation because movies obviously don’t cover every part of the book.

SERIES OR STANDALONE?

For Contemporary books I would go with Standalone but for sci-fi, fantasy or any  paranormal books I would prefer series.
