Hello Everyone! It’s that time of year again and I’m so excited to write this post. Thank you so much Mel and Mir from TBRandBeyond for tagging me. I love doing this tag every year and sharing my thoughts on the books I’ve read so far. So without any further ado, let’s begin.
So far, I’ve read 60 books and I’m nearly halfway through with my 2019 Goodreads challenge.
1.THE BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ THIS YEAR SO FAR:
Shadow Of The Fox was actually released last year, but I finally got around to it this year and I freaking loved it. It was fast paced, action packed, and a total adventurous ride. The Characters made this book even more amazing. I highly recommend this series.
And below are some other best books that I’ve loved.
2. BEST SEQUEL YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2019:
I wouldn’t say it was my favorite read but I think it’s a good sequel to The Cruel Prince and really loved the cliffy at the end.
Soul Of the Sword was a great sequel to Shadow Of The Fox. As expected this book didn’t disappoint me. I loved every minute of it and I can’t wait to read the epic finale.
3.A NEW RELEASE THAT YOU HAVEN’T READ BUT REALLY WANT TO:
4.MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR:
5.YOUR BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT:
Susan Ee, author of Penryn and The End Of The Days trilogy is one of my favorite authors. Her latest book Cinder and The Prince of Midnight was a huge letdown for me. I had high expectations for this book but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
6.BIGGEST SURPRISE OF THE YEAR:
Bloodleaf by Crystal Smith: This was an imaginative retelling of the Grimm Fairy tale “The Goose Girl”. I’m not familiar with the original Goose Girl fairytale but I found this story quite engaging. I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did. It was a good YA fantasy read and I’m so looking forward to the next book.
7.FAVORITE NEW TO YOU OR DEBUT AUTHOR:
Helen Hoang, Author of The Kiss Quotient
Emily A. Duncan, Author Of Wicked Saints
8.YOUR NEW FICTIONAL CRUSH:
Jacks from Caraval
I have a thing for morally grey characters and this time I’m picking Jacks from Caraval trilogy by Stephanie Garber.
9.NEW FAVORITE CHARACTER:
Rasmira from Warrior Of The Wild cause I’m sucker for kickass heroines!
10.A BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY:
Brigid Kemmerer’s books never fails to move me and her latest work didn’t disappoint me. It’s a heartwarming story and I absolutely loved it!
11.A BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY:
This book was pretty fun to read! I adored the main characters and the cute romance. I highly recommend it if you haven’t read it yet.
12.YOUR FAVORITE BOOK TO MOVIE ADAPTATION THAT YOU’VE SEEN THIS YEAR:
Haven’t read the book but really liked the movie.
13.FAVORITE BOOK POST OR REVIEW YOU’VE WRITTEN THIS YEAR:
I don’t have any favorites, but I love the reviews I wrote for Skyward, The Cruel Prince, The Kiss Quotient, Shadow of the Fox, and Wicked Saints.
14.THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK YOU BOUGHT/RECEIVED THIS YEAR:
15.WHAT ARE SOME BOOKS YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR:
Such great books in your post!!! Aurora Rising, Sorcery of Thorns and Wicked King were my faves!

This is such a great tag! You have accomplished so much already this year! I am really interested in giving Shadow of the Fox a try. It has been a long time since I have read Kagwa’s books and I think it’s time that I dive back in. Good luck with the rest of your reading goals this year! 🙂

Awwww I need to catch up with Kagawa’s books! Every single one I’ve ever read has been beyond amazing! And yay for Soul in Darkness and Call It What You Want as runner ups! I’m 75% through Call It What You Want right now and oh my heart, I love these characters with everything that I am. ♥ And we’ve had tons of visitors from out of state since the beginning of June and I’ve been more swamped with taking care of my Grandma lately so I’m finally getting caught up around the blogging world and need to read your review, but I’m so sad to see Susan Ee’s latest was a huge disappointment. I saw the low review score on Amazon and was scared.

Personally, I think Shadow Of The Fox is Julie’s best work so far. The world building, the characters, and the plot was amazing. I hope you get to it soon! And I also hope you enjoyed Call It What You want! That book was so good! Susan Ee’s new book was a disaster. The plot development was poor, the writing was meh, and the characters fell flat. The whole thing felt like I was reading a children’s fairytale read.
Sorry for the late reply! 🙂

Oh my gosh, that doesn’t even sound like her Angelfall book at all. I wondered what in the world happened?! That sounds like a train wreck ack. Thank you so so so much for the warning!!
