My Perfect Mistake (Over the Top #1) By Kelly Siskind [Review]

RELEASE DATE:  April 05, 2016
AUTHOR: Kelly Siskind
GENRE: New-Adult, Contemporary, Romance.
PUBLISHER:
Forever Yours
SUMMARY: What happens in Aspen is definitely not staying in Aspen . . .

A girls’ trip to Aspen was exactly what Shay needed to forget about her toxic ex-boyfriend. She’s got her girls, pristine slopes for skiing, and hot guys everywhere. Of course, her epic self-rediscovery goes completely to hell when a wild (and deliciously hot) skier knocks Shay on her ass . . . and war is declared.

Kolton doesn’t know what it is about Shay that makes him lose it. Not just his cool—although she does have an unholy gift for that—but his restraint. When anger gives way to explosive chemistry, they’re both shaken with the intensity of it. But somewhere between lust and hate, Kolton and Shay realize they could have something real . . . if they don’t kill each other first.

MY REV (Copy)

This book was fun and entertaining to read. I liked Shay and Kolton. Their banters are the parts  that I enjoyed the most.  Although I had enjoyed it, there are some aspects in this book that I didn’t liked. Nontheless, it is a perfect mix of humor and hot romance. Besides the main characters, I also liked the supporting characters. This is my first book from Kelly Siskind and I’m looking forward to read more books from her.

After a bad break up with her ex- boyfriend, Shay goes on a vacation with her two bff’s to Aspen to forget all the disaster and start anew. While skiing the slopes in asten, she gets knocked on her ass by a skier who turns out to be hot guy(Kolton) with jerk attitude.  When Aspen and Kolton meets once again they can’t help getting into each others nerves which ends up with a hot sex in the bathroom. Aspen and Kolton does hate each other but they can’t deny their physical attraction towards each other so they decide to have a holiday hook up with no strings attached but fate has other plans for them when their lust turns into something much more.

Shay is pretty likable character but she did irritated me sometimes. She is sassy, witty, determined and independent. Kolton is definitely a swoon worthy character with his hot looks especially his shoulder length dirt blond  hair. He might seem like a jerk at the beginning but he really is a nice guy. Except for the insta-lust, I enjoyed the relationship between Shay and Kolton. The chemistry between them is pretty intense and explosive. Their relationship starts with insta-hate/lust which slowly develops into love. Whenever they are in each other’s proximity their thoughts only consists of Jumping each others bones which was a bit annoying sometimes. Besides the romance, I liked the friendship between Shay, Raven and Lily. I enjoyed Raven and Lily. While Raven is totally a badass chick, Lily is  calm and sweet.  Jackson is another character that I liked. He is really a cute kid who brought more humor to the plot.

Although some parts are predictable and cliched, the plot is quite good. The plot moved in a decent pace and the only issue I have with this book was the too much lust in it otherwise I would’ve given it a four stars. I’m not new to New Adult romances but I really hate books that has too much sex and make out scenes but less romance. The book is written in alternative POV and I loved it. I liked the writing, it was witty and captivating. The author does have a great skill in writing that kept the readers engaged to the story.

Overall, it was a nice read. Despite my issue, the plot was interesting enough to hold my attention till the end. The next book is going to be about Lily and sawyer which I really can’t wait to read.

My Perfect Mistake by Kelly Siskind is a new adult contemporary romance which is sexy, hot, fun, and sweet. I Definitely recommend it!
