AUTHOR: Cookie O’Gorman
GENRE: Young-Adult, Contemporary, Romance .
SUMMARY:
Seventeen-year-old Sadie is tired of being a good girl.
Her Career Aptitude Test results say she’s ideally suited for a career in the clergy (aka a nun), and on top of that, she receives yet another rejection. An aspiring dancer/choreographer, Sadie dreams of being featured on Dancer’s Edge—but they say she’s too sweet, needs more life experience. Her BFF, Kyle, and her oldest friend, 79-year-old Betty, agree: Sadie is in desperate need of a life makeover.
But she’ll need a coach.
Sadie doesn’t lie, cheat or steal–heck she doesn’t even curse (part of the reason she hasn’t checked off anything on her “Carpe Diem List”). Sadie doesn’t know the first thing about being bad. But Kyle’s twin brother, Colton, does. And he’s willing to teach Sadie on one condition: she has to do everything he says for the next month.
A dazzling first kiss, two smokin’ hot brothers and a bet that changes everything. In this enemies-to-more YA romance, Sadie learns:
Breaking the rules can be fun—especially when it leads to happily-ever-after.

The Good Girl’s Guide To Being Bad was my third book by Cookie O’ Gorman and once again she didn’t disappoint me. Despite the predictable plot, I really had fun reading this book. This book is what I needed after reading lots of fantasy and sci-fi books. It was light, fun and totally entertaining. Seriously, if you haven’t read her books then you really need to check them out because they’re so good. So far, her books are a hit for me. I haven’t read her YA mystery novel yet but I hope I’ll to get to it soon.
The story follows seventeen year old Sadie who was always been a good girl. Her recent CAT test results says that she’s mostly suitable for a career in religious or clerical work. Sadie isn’t interested in becoming a Nun. She’s a skilled ballroom dancer and she wanted to get featured in Dancers Edge but her videos always gets rejected because she was too nice, has no edge, and lacks life experience. Sadie’s 79 year old friend Betty recommends that she needs a life coach. Someone who can help her completing her ultimate Carpe Diem List. Sadie don’t know anyone who can guide her. Kyle recommends his own twin brother Colton Bishop, her nemesis. Sadie and Colt don’t get along well with each other but he’s her only option. After a dazzling hot kiss, everything changes between them, but falling for each other isn’t on the list, it was forbidden.
Sadie was a pretty likable character! She’s talented, smart, caring, and sweet. Her friendship with the older ladies was adorable. Colton is your typical bad boy with a heart of gold. I have a weakness for bad boys(not the abusive a-holes) and I enjoyed reading Colton’s character. He was totally swoon worthy! He loves teasing Sadie at every turn. Their every interaction and banters always brought a smile on my face. The romance between sadie and Colton was well developed. I really liked Kyle, Sadie’s BFF and Colton’s twin brother. He’s pretty fun and easy going guy. I enjoyed the friendship between Sadie and him. I’m glad there’s no triangle in this book. I also liked Sadie’s mom, she was amazing! And finally I loved Betty! She was hilarious and you don’t want to mess with her
The plot was fun, sweet, and light. It was nothing complex or emotional. I enjoyed the light humor and the slow burn romance in this book. It was a classic enemies to lovers YA contemporary romance. I really liked the twin brothers aspect in this book. The writing was witty and fun. I enjoyed reading the book in Sadie’s POV but I also wish we had few glimpses of Colton’s POV. And also loved the surprising cameo appearances of the main characters from Adorkable and Ninja Girl. I loved those two books and I’m glad to see those characters once again.
Overall, I enjoyed reading this book! The characters were adorable, the romance was swoon worthy, and the plot was fun. I’ll look forward to the author’s next work.
Recommend it?
I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a fun and sweet stand-alone YA contemporary romance. If this isn’t to your taste, you can also check out Cookie’s other works.
