Monthly Wrap Up | May [2020]

Hello Everyone! I hope you’re all doing well! In the month of May, I was in a true blogging slump. I barely posted at all except for the wrap up, and my monthly anticipated post. To top it all off, I barely made it around the blogosphere to comment on other people’s posts and I fell way behind on my book reviews. The only good thing about this month was that I had a great reading. I’ve managed to read 14 books and now I’m behind on even more book reviews. I’m hoping to do some mini reviews, and series reviews in June so I can finally catch up with them. I also need to do some blog hopping.

Book Of The Month

THE BONE HOUSES BY EMILY LLOYD JONES

This book was sooo good! It was an interesting read with dark fairytale vibes. I loved the characters and the intriguing bone house concept. Some of the parts about death really touched my heart. If you like YA Dark Fantasy then you really need to give this a shot!

BLURB: Seventeen-year-old Aderyn (“Ryn”) only cares about two things: her family and her family’s graveyard. And right now, both are in dire straits. Since the death of their parents, Ryn and her siblings have been scraping together a meager existence as gravediggers in the remote village of Colbren, which sits at the foot of a harsh and deadly mountain range that was once home to the fae. The problem with being a gravedigger in Colbren, though, is that the dead don’t always stay dead.
The risen corpses are known as “bone houses,” and legend says that they’re the result of a decades-old curse. When Ellis, an apprentice mapmaker with a mysterious past, arrives in town, the bone houses attack with new ferocity. What is it that draws them near? And more importantly, how can they be stopped for good?
Together, Ellis and Ryn embark on a journey that will take them into the heart of the mountains, where they will have to face both the curse and the deeply-buried truths about themselves.

Thank you for reading and Let’s Chat! ❤

It’s been such a strange couple of months that I find that I’ve been re-reading more books than starting new ones. I think it’s like comfort eating. Some of your sound really interesting!
