SUMMARY :
Olive Torres is used to being the unlucky twin: from inexplicable mishaps to a recent layoff, her life seems to be almost comically jinxed. By contrast, her sister Ami is an eternal champion . . . she even managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a slew of contests. Unfortunately for Olive, the only thing worse than constant bad luck is having to spend the wedding day with the best man (and her nemesis), Ethan Thomas.
Olive braces herself for wedding hell, determined to put on a brave face, but when the entire wedding party gets food poisoning, the only people who aren’t affected are Olive and Ethan. Suddenly there’s a free honeymoon up for grabs, and Olive will be damned if Ethan gets to enjoy paradise solo.
Agreeing to a temporary truce, the pair head for Maui. After all, ten days of bliss is worth having to assume the role of loving newlyweds, right? But the weird thing is . . . Olive doesn’t mind playing pretend. In fact, the more she pretends to be the luckiest woman alive, the more it feels like she might be.
This was a fun book to read! I’m already familiar with Christina Lauren’s books and this didn’t disappoint me. At first, I was a bit hesitant to pick it up because some of my blogger friends, didn’t completely fall in love with it and I can understand where they’re coming from. Although this was an enjoyable read, I found few issues that could be turn-off to some readers. The characters were fun, but sometimes they’re frustrating. Some of the banters seemed forced. The conflict at the end totally irked me. It’s the only major issue I had with this book, apart from that I really liked it.
Olive was pretty fun and sassy character. She always has worst luck, unlike her twin sister Ami who’s quite lucky. I enjoyed her character and sometimes I really felt bad for her. After finishing the book, she’s the only character that I loved. Ethan was sweet, fun, and swoon worthy character. I really liked him, but after his conflict with Olive at the end, I was kinda disappointed with him. How could he be so naive? I’m glad she didn’t forgive him easily. I enjoyed the fake marriage relationship between Olive and Ethan. They can’t stand each other. Because of a simple misunderstanding they developed hatred for each other. There’s lot of tension between them. It was a pretty frustrating how they want to deny their attraction for each other.
The plot was enjoyable filled with fun, romance, humor, and family drama. The pace was okay. The first half is mostly fun and banter filled romance between Olive and Ethan. The second half is focused on the family drama which is honestly not my favorite part. I was angry and disappointed with some of the characters actions towards Olive at the end. One of the character turns out to be a total douche and boy, I didn’t see that coming. The sibling relationship between Ami and Olive was meh but loved their connection with their family. The authors writing was witty and fun. The book was written in Olive’s perspective. It’s too bad that it didn’t have dual perspective.
Overall, it was a good read! Despite issues, the story was fun, cute, and entertaining. The romance was fluffy and cute. It would definitely make a perfect summer romance read. If you’re looking for something dark and explicit with hate filled vibes, then I’m sorry this won’t satisfy you.
Recommend it?
I highly recommend this book to the people who’re looking for a fun filled enemies to lovers story.

Unfortunately, I’ve found most of the books I find incredibly satisfying and enjoyable end up being subpar when it comes to characters. The plot and writing always make for an entertaining read but there doesn’t seem to be much substance to the actual people involved and/or they are but staples of other characters created by the same authors or other authors (aka I have read about them before multiple times).
While this is not always a turn-off for me (and it won’t be in this book because, hello, enemies to lovers wedding plot? Oh yeah!), I wish authors would be able to achieve both things in their stories and that is rarely the case. So I totally understand where you’re coming from – fun stories are fun, but they could be so much better!
Wonderful review, hon ❤
