The Talon Saga is one of my favorite series so far. I’ve been eagerly waiting for this finale since I’ve finished Legion last year. Inferno was really a good conclusion to the story and I absolutely loved it. It was an entertaining finale filled with action, thrill, suspense, and romance. Even though most of the twists were pretty much predictable to me, it didn’t effect my enjoyment at all. In the entire series, Legion is definitely my favorite book because it was perfect.  The whole series was a thrilling roller-coaster ride with some ups and downs, but overall it was a great series and I’m so sad that it was finally over. I’ll definitely miss Garret, Riley, and Ember. The triangle a little bit frustrated me but I’m glad that everything worked out between them in the end.

Spoilers ahead for readers who haven’t read Legion and also the previous installments.

In the previous book, Ember Hill learns that she’s the blood Of Elder Wrym, Talon’s leader. She’s going to be the true vessel for Elder Wrym who plans to use her as a new shell to expand her life span by erasing her. Ember escapes from their clutches along with Riley and Garret. Together they need to fight against the Talon Clone dragons, a new dangerous threat that could wreak havoc in their world. They all travel to the amazon jungle to find someone who could help them in the war. Meanwhile, Talon plans to bring a new world dominated by them, anyone who refuses to join them will be destroyed. Elder Wrym sends Dante to China to send a message to the Eastern Dragons that if they refused to join them, they’ll get killed with others who’re against them. After Talon declares war, Riley, Garret and Ember plans to strike against them by joining with unlikely allies. Even with the insufficient army, they’re ready for the final battle which holds everyone’s fate. If Talon wins the war, there’s going to be hell on earth.

I can never get enough of Ember, Garret and Riley. With the frustrating triangle out of the way, it was fun watching them working together especially Riley and Garret. They become friends who trusts each other. Ember is a fierce female dragon shifter and so in love with Garret, a human who’s also one of the soldier of Order of St. George, her enemy. I’m glad that she finally decided to go with her heart not her dragon instincts. I’ve been rooting for this couple since the start and I’m glad that my ship has sailed. I’m a total sucker for enemies to lovers trope. Garret is my favorite character in the entire series. He had a difficult journey from the start for being in love with the enemy. He faced a trail from The Patriarch, treated as a traitor by his peers and got tortured by the Talon. Now he kinda works for both teams. Riley is like a mother hen to his hatch-lings, the rogue dragons. He’s quite protective of them and their safety is always his highest priority. He seemed a bit whiny at the beginning for his helpless situation but I can understand him. After Ember broke his heart in the last book, his dragon side Cobalt still feels a bit pained by the rejection but it wasn’t intense like before. We’ve a interesting new addition to the team i.e., Mist an ex-Basilisk just like Riley. I really liked Mist! She’s mysterious, feisty and totally kickass. It’s pretty easy to guess there’s something going on between Mist and Riley. I ship them! Wes, the human hacker and a friend of Riley is just the same. He’s a total fun character. I also liked Jade, the eastern dragon who’s the only adult dragon in the team. She’s always there for them whenever they needed a saving.

The plot was engaging, fast paced and action packed. Despite the predictable twists, I had enjoyed reading this book. There’s never a dull moment, I was hooked to the story from the beginning till the end. There’s a very little romance because most of the plot was focused on preparing for the war and the final battle. I already predicted who’s going to live and who’s going to die but sometimes the author did made me think that I might be wrong. So, it was really a exciting ride and I loved all the action parts. The author’s writing was flawless, like always. Her vivid writing style made me feel that I was actually watching a movie. It’s always a great reading experience. The book was told in Riley’s, Ember’s, Garret’s and Dante’s first person POV. I love multiple POV’s they definitely make the stories even more suspenseful and interesting.

Overall, It was a great finale! Although it’s not my favorite book in the series, it’s a perfect finale with a satisfying ending. After four years, the journey of Talon Saga has finally come to an end. I’m definitely going to miss this series and the characters. As this series comes to an end, now I’m super excited for Julie’s next upcoming series which is about Kitsune, Fox Shifters. I’ll read anything related to Japanese Mythology. Argh, the wait is totally killing me. I’m quite envious of the people who already got to read it.
