Mafiosa is a satisfying ending to this fantastic series. Blood for Blood is one of my favorite thrilling contemporary series that I’m quite enjoying so far and I can’t believe it’s finally over cause I really don’t want this series to end. Though I loved Mafiosa, Inferno is definitely my favorite book in the trilogy. Inferno is a total perfection but I really can’t say the same for Mafiosa. I do enjoyed all the thrilling action and romance but it seemed less intense than it’s previous book and the ending was little bit rushed. Nonetheless, it was amazing through out and I immensely enjoyed it.

After the tragic end in Inferno, Sophie finally decides to take revenge on her mother’s murderers by joining the falcon family.  In the previous book, Sophie is betrayed by her Uncle Jack and it was also revealed that her dad and Uncle are actually Marino brothers – Vince Marino Jr. and Antony Marino which makes her a Marino too. Sophie never killed anyone in her life but she’s willing to try and bring an end to the Marino’s by becoming a mafiosa. Luca knows Sophie doesn’t deserve this life so he tries to convince her but blinded by anger and revenge, Sophie don’t want to listen to him. The blood war becomes more deadly when the Marino’s becomes more bold and doesn’t seem to care about breaking rules and boundaries.

I love Sophie but sometimes she does some stupid things that makes me want to hate her. I was quite shocked with her mother’s murder in the previous book and I felt really sad for her. It was really heart wrenching and with all the rage burning inside her she finally decides to embrace her heritage and become a mafiosa but inside her she still possess a good heart that makes things hard for her. Luca is definitely my favorite character in this series. He doesn’t like the way he was living but being born as a falcone, he doesn’t have a choice. He’s one hell of a swoon worthy character and I’m glad he wasn’t reckless and annoying like his brother Nic. Besides all the action, the romance is the best aspect I loved in this book. I was rooting for Luca from the start and I always enjoyed them from their secret meetings to their secret relationship. I liked The star gazing scene where they open up to each other is just so cute and sweet. There is lots of tension between them and their chemistry is uber hot. As for the supporting characters, I liked Millie, Valentine and Elena. Millie is a great friend who’s there for Sophie whenever she needed and I always liked her sense of humor and wit. I never thought I would add Valentine and Elena in my like list but in Mafiosa we see a total different side of them that totally changed my mind about them. I never liked Nic Falcone and he seemed even more annoying in this book and I’m glad that Sophie didn’t picked him otherwise this review would definitely turn into my rant. Donata Marino is a ruthless villain and I’d love to hate her.

The plot was amazing and thrilling, like always but I wish the ending wasn’t too rushed. For a finale, I hoped the final battle would be mind blowing so I was tiny bit disappointed when everything happened in a rush but still it was satisfying conclusion to the series. The story is engaging from the start and with all the twists and the heart pumping action, I was literally flying through the pages. The writing is simple yet compelling and beautiful. The book was told in multiple POV’s and it’s one of the aspects that I loved in this book because I really enjoyed seeing the story from different perspectives.

Overall, it was a wonderful read and I absolutely loved it.  This trilogy is a thrill ride from the beginning and now I’m pretty sad that the journey has finally come to an end. Luca Falcone has officially become my new bookish boyfriend and I’m really gonna miss him. With the end of this brilliant series, I really can’t wait to know what the author has in store for us next.

Blood For Blood is a fast paced action packed YA contemporary trilogy by Catherine Doyle. It’s a thrilling mix of Romeo and Juliet, and the Godfather and I highly recommend this trilogy to everyone because It’s a series that you don’t want to miss.
