WWW Wednesdays #54(Jun 22) [2016]

WWW meme (2)

Hello there! Welcome back to another weekly WWW wednesdays meme! I know I’m a bit late to post this but anyway here we go 🙂

The WWW meme was formerly Hosted by Miz B at Should be Reading

Now It was revived at Taking on a World of Words

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…
• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

I AM CURRENTLY READING:

BROKEN TROUBLE(BROKEN STORM#1) BY KRISTAN BILLUPS
Genre: Young Adult/Contemporary

BLURB: 17 year old Nova has one last chance to turn her life around. When the judge gave her an ultimatum of getting herself and her life together or going to prison, she is sent to a Ranch in the middle of nowhere swarming with hot cowboys.
The same Ranch that she had burnt a barn down on that had sent her back to Juvenile detention.
The same cowboys that had almost lost their ranch because of her.

How do you change when everyone hates you and doesn’t trust you?
How do you change when you don’t want to?

Which life will she choose? The fun but dark life she’s been living her entire life or something even better?

I JUST RECENTLY FINISHED READING:

THE BUREAU(THE CAGE FOR MAN AND WOLVES#1) BY MICHELLE KAY
Genre: Young Adult/Dystopia/Fantasy
My Rating: 4/5 Stars
This book was refreshing to read and I haven’t expected to enjoy it as much as I did.

BLURB: Only slaves and corpses come out of the Bureau.

Seventeen-year-old Clover Rhodes has been told this her whole life, but when her family is taken by the Bureau, she’s forced to make a decision: follow the rules and stay hidden with her pack of werewolves, or turn away from their safety in a wild bid to rescue her parents and two younger siblings.

Elliot Montgomery, nineteen-year-old son of the Bureau Director, is next in line to lead the agency in its campaign to bring the werewolf population under strict control—and he’s the only thing standing between that control and his cutthroat brother’s plans for a werewolf genocide.

That is, until Clover Rhodes happens.

Determined to get her family back, Clover attacks Elliot in his own home and holds him hostage while posing as his slave. Using her new cover, she sneaks her way into the Bureau in search of her captured family. What she finds instead is a front row seat to the twisted exhibition of mistreatment her people suffer at the hands of the Bureau. And what she faces inside herself is the possibility that Elliot–her prisoner–is not as corrupt as she wanted him to be.

IDOL(VIP#1) BY KRISTEN CALLIHAN
Genre: New Adult/Contemporary Romance
My Rating: 4/5 Stars
A fun and sexy contemporary read with sizzling romance and lots of humor.

 BLURB: Libby

I found Killian drunk and sprawled out on my lawn like some lost prince. With the face of a god and the arrogance to match, the pest won’t leave. Sexy, charming, and just a little bit dirty, he’s slowly wearing me down, making me crave more.

He could be mine if I dare to claim him. Problem is, the world thinks he’s theirs. How do you keep an idol when everyone is intent on taking him away?

Killian

As lead singer for the biggest rock band in the world, I lived a life of dreams. It all fell apart with one fateful decision. Now everything is in shambles.

Until Liberty. She’s grouchy, a recluse—and kind of cute. Scratch that. When I get my hands on her, she is scorching hot and more addictive than all the fans who’ve screamed my name.

The world is clamoring for me to get back on stage, but I’m not willing to leave her. I’ve got to find a way to coax the hermit from her shell and keep her with me. Because, with Libby, everything has changed. Everything.

LOTUS AND THORN BY SARA WILSON EITIENNE
Genre: Young-Adult/Sci-fi
My Rating: 3/5 Stars
This book isn’t what I had expected because it was marketed as fantasy but actually it is fully a sci-fi read. Nonetheless, it was a good read but not great either.

BLURB: Ravaged by a plague known as Red Death, the planet Gabriel, a former colony of Earth, is a barren wasteland. Since being abandoned by Earth 500 years ago, resources are scarce and life is cheap. To stay alive, the survivors, the Citizens, scavenge the remains of a now dead city, trading for food with the resource-rich Curadores, the only other survivors on Gabriel. Every old computer, every piece of wire, every scrap of metal counts. To steal is the ultimate sin. So when tough-as-nails seventeen-year-old Leica is caught doing just that, she’s exiled and left to the mercy of Gabriel’s unforgiving desert for the rest of her life.

While in exile, Leica discovers a mysterious shuttle, which may not only lead her home, but even more impossible—reestablish contact with Earth. Then Red Death rears its head again, killing her entire work crew, leaving Leica all alone until a handsome Curador offers her refuge in the Dome—the only place on Gabriel untouched by Red Death, where a decadent and sultry life awaits. But there’s a catch: Leica can only enter the Dome as his concubine—his Kisaeng. When a rogue group of Citizens see their chance for revolution in Leica’s good fortune, she finds herself unraveling a deadly mystery with chilling answers to the true origin of Red Death and the reason Earth really abandoned them so long ago.

THE WAY TO GAME THE WALK OF SHAME BY JENN P. NGUYEN
Genre: Young-Adult/ Contemporary/Romance
My Rating: 5/5 Stars
This book was so freaking good! It was sweet, cute, adorable and I loved it! I highly recommend this book.

 BLURB: Taylor Simmons is screwed.

Things were hard enough when her single-minded dedication to her studies earned her the reputation of being an Ice Queen, but after getting drunk at a party and waking up next to bad boy surfer Evan McKinley, the entire school seems intent on tearing Taylor down with mockery and gossip.

Desperate to salvage her reputation, Taylor persuades Evan to pretend they’re in a serious romantic relationship. After all, it’s better to be the girl who tames the wild surfer than just another notch on his surfboard.

NEXT I’M GOING TO READ THESE BOOKS:

THE PROGENY(THE DESCENDANTS OF THE BLOOD COUNTESS#1) BY TOSCA LEE
Genre: Young Adult/Historical/Fantasy/Thriller

BLURB: Emily Jacobs is the descendant of a serial killer. Now, she’s become the hunted.

She’s on a quest that will take her to the secret underground of Europe and the inner circles of three ancient orders—one determined to kill her, one devoted to keeping her alive, and one she must ultimately save.

Filled with adrenaline, romance, and reversals, The Progeny is the present-day saga of a 400-year-old war between the uncanny descendants of “Blood Countess” Elizabeth Bathory, the most prolific female serial killer of all time, and a secret society dedicated to erasing every one of her descendants. A story about the search for self filled with centuries-old intrigues against the backdrop of atrocity and hope.

THE WEREWOLF HIGH#1 & #2 BY ANITA OH
Genre: Young Adult/Paranormal

  BLURB:

As soon as I stepped onto the grounds of Amaris High, I knew I’d made a big mistake. I could never fit in at such a snobbish school – I was more IT girl than “it girl”. But then I saw him.

Sam Spencer. My childhood best friend. But it couldn’t be. Sam Spencer had died three years ago, on the night that changed everything. I need to know what happened, why he’s suddenly not dead and is hanging out with a bunch of rich kids.

When the school is hit by a truth spell, it seems like the perfect chance to find out what Sam and his creepy new friends are hiding, but the weirder things get, the less I’m sure I want to know. Even for Sam, even for the free food, Amaris High might be more trouble than it’s worth.
