Lauren Layne is a famous contemporary romance author and this was my first read from her. I wanted to give this book a try after hearing some wonderful things about it. This book is definitely hot, hilarious and entertaining. Basically, I’m sucker for hilarious and romantic contemporary reads so when I first saw this, I knew I had to read this book.  I immensely enjoyed this book and I really liked the characters, the plot and the writing. This book can be read as a standalone and it isn’t necessary to read the first book cause I haven’t either.

After a disastrous tabloid scandal with a famous actor she barely knows, famous country singer Jenny Dawson moves to a remote mansion in Louisiana to  have some peace and escape from the press.  She wants to concentrate on writing songs for her new album and when she gets to the mansion, she meets the broody caretaker named Noah who looks hot as hell with an attitude to match. Jenny mistakes Noah as the caretaker but actually he is Preston Noah Maxwell Walcott, the owner of the estate. Noah knows that  Jenny is a  trouble and he already have lots of baggage and he didn’t want to add more to his life. So, to keep his distance, he pretends to be the caretaker and provokes her every time they meet. But neither can deny their attraction beneath their hate and they eventually give into it. With sizzling nights and pillow talks, together they feel beautiful and perfect for each other but when secrets are finally revealed everything falls apart.

Jenny is feisty, sarcastic and fun character. She is such a sweet person who has lots of love for her pet dog Dolly. This book does show how fame can be incredibly exciting as well as terrifying, Jenny was tagged homewrecker when she hasn’t done anything at all. As for Noah, I liked him but I did hated him for being so judgmental and jerk towards her at the beginning. Nonetheless, together they are great couple. Besides Jenny and Noah, the dogs had brought  lots of humor to the plot. Noah has a dog named Ranger, a chocolate lab who wants to hump Dolly, Jenny’s tiny feisty Pomeranian who acts hard to get. Together they are so cute, lovable and adorable. I loved the banters and the bickering between Noah  and Jenny. There’s lots of sexual tension at the beginning and the romance was sizzling hot and steamy. I also liked Noah’s friends but they aren’t fleshed out well.

The plot might be predictable but it was really entertaining and hilarious enough to engage the readers through out. The characters are really great and I quite enjoyed their love-hate relationship. The story moved in a great pace and the writing was fantastic. The writing was so realistic and compelling that made the story come to life. The book was told in dual pov and It was perfect.

Overall,  I loved it! Good Girl is a stand-alone New Adult read filled with lots of humor and romance and I highly recommend it.
