Sunday Book Recommendations #27 [07 Feb 2016]

Sunday Book RecomendationsHello there! Welcome back to another Sunday Book Recommendations which is the new weekly meme hosted by me. I created this meme so I could recommend you guys some interesting books which I think are worth reading. This meme includes recommending a book from three different genres. If you want to do this meme have fun with it, but don’t forget to link back to the host. 🙂

Note: You can change the genres every week.

YA CONTEMPORARY
THE ACCIDENTAL MOVIE STAR BY EMILY EVANS
[STAND-ALONE]
It is an entertaining read filled with lots of fun, humor and romance. I had fun reading this book and What I loved the most about it was the sweet romance. If you are looking for a fun contemporary read or celebrity romance then definitely give this a shot.

BLURB: How did Ashley spend her summer vacation? Imagine the hottest guy in Hollywood. Do you see the girl next to him, the one handing him a cup of coffee? Yeah. That’s her.

Interning on a major motion picture is not all bad. She gets to watch some of the scenes and even offer her opinion. “That kiss looked lame. Laughably weak. There’s no chance at an MTV award with that kiss.” LOL.

Until the director says, “Hey, Intern. Yeah, you. Ashley. You’re right. So, teach Caspian how to kiss. Oh, and get in front of the camera. We’re going to need you in this next shot.”
OMG.

YA PARANORMAL
FORSAKEN BY JANA OLIVER
[THE DEMON TRAPPERS SERIES]
The Demon Trappers is one of my favorite series and I quite enjoyed every book in this series. It has a great female protagonist and the plot was very unique. Overall, It is a perfect package of action, adventure and romance.

BLURB: Riley Blackthorne just needs a chance to prove herself – and that’s exactly what the demons are counting on…

Seventeen-year-old Riley, the only daughter of legendary demon trapper Paul Blackthorne, has always dreamed of following in her father’s footsteps.  The good news is, with human society seriously disrupted by economic upheaval and Lucifer increasing the number of demons in all major cities, Atlanta’s local Trappers Guild needs all the help they can get – even from a girl. When she’s not keeping up with her homework or trying to manage her growing crush on fellow apprentice Simon, Riley’s out saving distressed citizens from foul-mouthed little devils – Grade One Hellspawn only, of course, per the strict rules of the Guild. Life’s about as normal as can be for the average demon-trapping teen.

But then a Grade Five Geo-Fiend crashes Riley’s routine assignment at a library, jeopardizing her life and her chosen livelihood.  And, as if that wasn’t bad enough, sudden tragedy strikes the Trappers Guild, spinning Riley down a more dangerous path than she ever could have imagined. As her whole world crashes down around her, who can Riley trust with her heart – and her life?

YA FANTASY/MYTHOLOGY
PERSEPHONE BY KAITLIN BEVIS
[DAUGHTER OF ZEUS TRILOGY]
I love reading modern retellings of greek Mythology especially Persephone and Hades retellings. Persephone by Kaitlin Bevis is quite a pleasant read. I really liked the Persephone and Hades in this book which made the book more appealing. I loved the plot, all the characters and also the slow burn romance. All in all, it was a great read and highly recommend it.

BLURB: One day Persephone is an ordinary high school junior working at her mom’s flower shop in Athens, Georgia. The next she’s fighting off Boreas, the brutal god of Winter, and learning that she’s a bonafide goddess—a rare daughter of the now-dead Zeus. Her goddess mom whisks her off to the Underworld to hide until Spring.

There she finds herself under the protection of handsome Hades, the god of the dead, and she’s automatically married to him. It’s the only way he can keep her safe. Older, wiser, and far more powerful than she, Hades isn’t interested in becoming her lover, at least not anytime soon. But every time he rescues her from another of Zeus’s schemes, they fall in love a little more. Will Hades ever admit his feelings for her?

Can she escape the grasp of her powerful dad’s minions? The Underworld is a very cool place, but is it worth giving up her life in the realm of the living? Her goddess powers are developing some serious, kick-butt potential. She’s going to fight back.
