RELEASE DATE: August 05, 2014
AUTHOR: Colleen Hoover
GENRE: New-Adult,Contemporary, Romance.
PUBLISHER: Atria Books
SUMMARY: When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

MY REVIEW:
“Ugly love becomes you. Consumes you. Makes you hate it all. Makes you realize that all the beautiful parts aren’t even worth it. Without the beautiful, you’ll never risk feeling the ugly. So you give it all up. You give it all up. You never want love again, no matter what kind it is, because no type of love will ever be worth living through the ugly love again.”

I’m not a big fan of colleen hoover but I’ve read her other book named Slammed which I totally loved it and it is one of my favorite book too.I didn’t gave much attention to this book before, but after seeing so many people loving it, I just wanted to know what’s all the hype about  and so I let myself immersed in this strange Ugly love story. After I’ve finished reading it, I can definitely say that this one lives up to all the hype. The plot was really compelling and emotional but I didn’t liked the main protagonists, they  just seemed flawed to me maybe it’s for the plot but I just couldn’t like them.

Tate Collins who is studying nursing, moves in to her brother Corbin’s apartment for the time being until she could find her own apartment. On the first day of her arrival to her brother’s apartment, her path crosses with her brother’s  friend Miles Archer, who is also an Airline pilot. After the first meeting, both of them couldn’t deny their mutual physical attraction between them but Miles isn’t looking for love and Tate isn’t looking for relationship either. So, he makes a deal with Tate for having Sex with no strings attached and also with a condition, that absolutely forbids her not to ask anything related to his past. After sometime Tate starts to develop feelings for him and she thought that maybe she could make him fall in love with her but she didn’t expected that he doesn’t really want to move on from his past which is something related to a girl named Rachel.

Here comes my favorite ranting part about the characters which frustrated the hell out of me. Seriously, I don’t know If I’m the only one or not, but I didn’t liked both Tate and Miles. Tate  may look like a tough girl but she doesn’t have an ounce of self respect. She gives the image of an independent girl who can think for herself and make her own decisions but in front of Miles, they just flew out the window and she would be total putty in his hands.

How can she get herself used like that even after knowing that he couldn’t return her feelings and I truly hated the way Miles ignores her every time after he was fully satisfied. Miles is a character who is totally broken inside and he feels that he isn’t capable of love which eventually made him avoid being in any relationship with a girl for six years. I can understand with him being broken and hurt after going through a past that was so heart breaking and tragic, but he need  not have to be a total douche bag and Jerk towards Tate. The story is also written in younger miles perspective when he was in a relationship with Rachel and he annoyed me with his inner thoughts which seemed a bit creepy.
“I’m gonna fall in love with you, Rachel.
Rachel

“You’re gonna fall in love with me, Rachel
“She’s mine.”
“She’s gonna have all my babies.”
“I want Rachel for my birthday. I want Rachel for
Christmas. I want Rachel for graduation.”

Even If I didn’t liked the main characters but I loved the supporting characters Cap, Corbin and also Ian.

“You ever heard that expression, ‘When life gives you lemons . . .’?”
“Make lemonade,” I say, finishing his quote.
Cap looks at me and shakes his head. “That’s not how it goes,” he says. “When life gives you lemons, make sure you know whose eyes you need to squeeze them in.”
LOL! 😀
Cap is my favorite character in the book and I always enjoyed the  conversation between him and Tate because they always brought a smile to my face. Corbin was a perfect brotherly character in this plot and I totally loved him especially when he finally punched Miles face cause I was really looking forward to that.Ian is another character that I’ve liked the most though he doesn’t have much part in this plot, we can see he was a great friend to Miles.

The main aspect of the story is to forgive yourself and let go of the past so you can make way to a bright new future.I must say there isn’t anything beautiful in this love story but it surely got an Happy Ending. The romance in this plot is very steamy and contains mature scenes, and it isn’t intended for young adults. The book is written in both Tate and Miles POV.  The writing style is beautiful, as always. Overall, It’s an amazingly  ugly love story with twisted characters and I highly recommend this book to those who love reading Contemporary romance genre.

I’m so glad that it will be adapted into a movie which is going to be released in 2016 where Miles is played by Nick Bateman who looks so hot in the below picture. Now I’m really excited to watch this movie. 😀

Yes!! I’m so glad I found another person who feels the same way about the characters; former Miles came off as creepy and his inner dialogue was a bit odd. I also really liked Cap. 🙂 But despite the flaws of this book, I did enjoy it, and I’m glad you did too! Great review. ❤

It’s sad when awesome female leads turn into little girls when it comes to the male leads. I’m glad the book was good in general and that you enjoyed it.

Isn’t it frustrating when you expect too much from an author because of one good book? It happens all the time to me and it’s really disappointing!

Younger Miles sounds downright creepy, the alpha possessive thing doesn’t do it for me. But I can’t resist a No Strings Attached kind of story 😉 Looking forward to the movie adaptation.

I loved Ugly Love and I am so glad you like it too! Nick Bateman oh my gosh, SWOONINGGGGG!
Cap was honestly the cutest, funniest character. I didn’t like the no strings attached relationship, but I suppose in terms of the whole story, it was a good addition. Great review. xoxo

I didn’t like Tate much, too, because Miles captured my interest from that day he blocked Tate’s doorway. I’m glad Nick Bateman is Miles! No, I’m not only glad, I’m so ecstatic!!!

After I read this book I found out they were making it into a movie with Nick Bateman and I died! Nick Bateman is gorgeous and pretty much exactly how I was imagining Miles the whole book!
