SUMMARY: Samantha is a stranger in her own life. Until the night she disappeared with her best friend, Cassie, everyone said Sam had it all—popularity, wealth, and a dream boyfriend. Sam has resurfaced, but she has no recollection of who she was or what happened to her that night. As she tries to piece together her life from before, she realizes it’s one she no longer wants any part of. The old Sam took “mean girl” to a whole new level, and it’s clear she and Cassie were more like best enemies. Sam is pretty sure that losing her memories is like winning the lottery. She’s getting a second chance at being a better daughter, sister, and friend, and she’s falling hard for Carson Ortiz, a boy who has always looked out for her—even if the old Sam treated him like trash.

But Cassie is still missing, and the facts about what happened to her that night isn’t just buried deep inside of Sam’s memory—someone else knows, someone who wants to make sure Sam stays quiet. All Sam wants is the truth, and if she can unlock her clouded memories of that fateful night, she can finally move on. But what if not remembering is the only thing keeping Sam alive?

MY REVIEW: This is my second YA thriller novel that I’ve read from J.Lynn and she amazed me again with her plot but honestly, I think Dead List seemed more mysterious and suspenseful than Don’t Look back. The story was quite predictable after completing the half of the book nonetheless it was entertaining and thrilling.I Would love to read more thrillers from the author if she ever decided to write another.

“Don’t look back. You won’t like what you find.”

The Character Samantha she was easy to connect to and I can actually  feel all the inner turmoil she was feeling which almost made me crazy as well. Miss Jennifer did great in building a character who’s hit with amnesia with no recollection of memories and even the relationships with the people she had with. After missing for four days, Sam didn’t have any idea what happened that night with Cassie. She lost all her memories and she couldn’t even able to recognize her own parents, best friends and her hot boyfriend, It’s like she was born again with a new life. She was surprised to find herself that the old she was a totally mean bitch  and she absolutely hated her old self.

The new Sam wanted to have a better life and wanted to make amends with people she hurt especially Carson Ortiz. She gets insta-attracted to Carson who isn’t actually her boyfriend but the unfortunate thing is — the old Sam hated him  and always been mean to him. Even frenemies with Cassie she wanted to help finding her and tries hard to recollect her memories of the night where both of them went missing. After some crazy hallucinations she even started to question her sanity but what I really liked the most is, that she still  stood strong and fought for the answers she was looking for.She was bewildered after finding mysterious warning notes from someone who  knows what happened that night  making her more curious and interested to seek the answers. After having glimpses of her lost memories she started to suspect  everyone including herself and she doesn’t even know who to trust anymore.

All the main and supporting characters in this are well built and well developed and they are the best thing that made the whole plot interesting and mysterious. The chemistry or the romance between Carson and sam is quite good as expected from J.Lynn she was really good at it.There are some cliché scenes in it that you may seen them in another books but it can be overlooked.

The plot is very much captivating which has got so many twist and turns in it that keep us slightly off balance and they will surprise you with each and every turn of the pages. As the story begins to unfold it becomes more suspenseful and thrilling. There were some hints if you closely observe each and every scene in it and after the revelation I wasn’t surprised with the outcome cause I’ve already predicted it.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book which is both romantic and suspenseful. The author as usual got a good creative writing skills which will keep the readers totally immersed into the story. The pace of the plot was neither slow nor fast but when the story began to come closer to the climax, things got really exciting and fast.If you are into suspense thrillers with a blend of romance then I’ll definitely recommend this book.
