MY REVIEW: This book  is  more  like a fun and quirky read with lots of witchery stuff. It felt more like a Disney movie styled book and I think It can be suitable for middle grader’s also. The author has put lots of efforts in building this magical setting.I had picked this book because of the interesting synopsis and that cute cover. It was a really an entertaining read that’ll make you stick with it till the end.

Camelia is a fun and quick witty girl that you would love to know. She is adopted by a wicked witch and does everyday chores for her. The witch thinks that learning spells is more important than School and makes her learn spells that she already knows she isn’t capable of.Everyday she was ordered by the witch with a list of ingredients to be collected, stuff like Goat’s blood and pig’s ear etc.Cam also got a dragon in her garage which she looks after and a werewolf pup.The first time when Cam meets Devon at the bus stop is really hilarious.

The wicked witch wants to summon a demon so she can control the world and also to make them aware of the power of the witches. For summoning the demon, she gives a list of ingredients to be collected to Cam, and cam struggles to stop the witches plan, however the witch is more clever and the Demon is Summoned.During the summoning something goes wrong and the Demon enters into the cute boy named Devon who she has a crush on. The Witch sets a Contract with the demon to find the Phoenix before it blows up the school with it’s Phoenix fire on Halloween night. Now Cam’s only goal is to get the Demon out of the Devon after the Demon completes his contract before she completely loses him forever.

I can say it was a good plot  but It wasn’t a mind blowing read for me.I felt something lacking in it that made me feel not so exciting, so maybe the problem was with me and I think others may like it more. There were some unwanted parts which I think wasn’t necessary, so it got me slightly bored. There were also some twists in this book that I didn’t expected. There was also some romance in it but don’t expect too much, the whole book was focused on the struggles of Cam, in which she was making sure the demon wouldn’t cause any more problems in her school. It got all the fantasy feel in the modern day with pixies, dragons, witches and some references about other mythical creatures. If you are looking for a  quick  fantasy read with witches in it, then this book is definitely for you.

MY RATING:   4-stars14-stars14-stars1
