AUTHOR:Lisa Gail Green
SUMMARY: One Demon. One Angel. One Soul.
Josh lived a reckless, selfish life, so upon his death, escaping the eternal torments of Hell by assuming the role of a powerful, soul-corrupting demon is an easy choice. His first soul assignment doesn’t seem too hard: the mortal Camden is already obsessed with weapons, pain, and torture. If only Josh wasn’t distracted by Cam’s beautiful friend, Grace.
Grace never expected to die violently at age sixteen, but now she’s an Angel, responsible for saving a soul. She can already see past Camden’s earthly flaws, so the job should be be easy. If only that handsome, playboy Josh would stop getting in the way.
It’s forbidden for an Angel to be with a Demon, so if Josh and Grace stop resisting each other, the results would be disastrous.
And only one can claim Cam’s soul.
MY REVIEW: OK Two things made me want to read this, first the enthralling cover and second the blurb which made me swaying back and forth. Talk about disappointment when you didn’t get what you expected and that’s what i felt while reading this. The writing skills and characters felt good and perfect but the major downfall was the story building.
After dying in a car accident Josh goes to hell and meets Lucifer where he was offered two choices either live forever through torture in hell or damn a soul. After knowing what forever torture in hell felt like Josh chooses the Second option and becomes a Newbie Demon. As for the newbie Angel Grace in order to earn her wings she has to complete a mission where she needs to save a particular soul.Unfortunately Josh and Grace gets the same target but opposite missions. When Josh and Grace meets for the first time there was insta attraction and a beginning of a forbidden relationship which was a total cliché.If you have read too much angels and demons books then the story is quite predictable.
Even after becoming a demon Josh is not so demonic in nature except for the eyes and the cool powers and as for the Grace she always lusts after Josh which i don’t think is angelic.Even though their relationship is forbidden they always fight their desire and ends up making out.Camden is a total evil in nature and his hobbies are inventing new weapons or torture devices. After hanging out with each other for sometime Cam develops a crush on Grace and when Grace rejects him he goes total psycho and even tries to kill her.
Most of the book portrayed the development of a forbidden romance between JOSH and GRACE but i was looking’ for more story. When Josh and Grace give in to desire and does the final deed i thought “he wasn’t supposed to damn her even after knowing the consequences” it was a total no no from me.When Cam Caught Grace and tries to kill her i thought why is she so helpless isn’t she supposed to be stronger than Humans. How Josh and Grace are fulfilling their missions isn’t potrayed well because i didn’t see much effort put by both of them.
The story was slow paced and pretty much readable but there was no mystery in this, you can quite predict what’s gonna happen next while reading this.Even how the deaths of Josh and Grace are inter-connected is predictable.I don’t think i would continue to read the second installment in the series. Finally i would recommend it every one who are new to this genre and loves forbidden romance but i wouldn’t to those who has already read too much angels and demons stuff.
